Product Description Created by Maurice Roucel, creator of L'Instant by Guerlain, this unconventional fragrance sweeps you straight into its heart: a new interpretation of violet. Exuberant notes of violet are accompanied by jubilant red berries like raspberry. A hint of orange blossom and rose impart a striking intensity, while sensual iris and tonka bean resins finish the scent, making Insolence the ultimate luxury fragrance.

Horrible-- at least with my chemistry... May 12, 2008 I know that reviewing perfume is like comparing apples and potatoes. The right skin chemistry is needed to bring out certain aspects of the scent. I'm reviewing how this smells on my skin, so don't hit me with too many tomatoes!
On me, Insolence is one heady and brassy fragrance and screams to me 80s power perfume! At first Insolence starts with loud berry and fruit notes. Then after about 10 minutes the violet and iris overpower the fruit notes. At 15 minutes the tonka bean and horribly done orange blossom takes over and nearly gags me. From there it just grows stronger and stronger. I finally had to scrub it off. I sure wouldn't describe this as sexy or sophisticated- at least with my chemistry. Literally gag-inducing to me and gives me a horrible sinus headache.
Tho, I absolutely love My Insolence, this one is horrid on me.
Rich and strong scent of woods and berries September 24, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was enchanted with this scent from the moment I saw the magazine ad with the scented page, it lingered in my mind and I couldn't wait to get my hands on some. So I made it to my local Sephora and made a colossal mistake of spraying it on the front of my self, one spray but it sprayed out in an intense blast and I was doomed to reek of it for the rest of the day. The fragrance is beautiful there is no mistake in that, but the scent was so overwhelming I had a huge headache until I went to be that night. I am still scared of wearing it because my brain might remember how sick I felt that day but I will give it a try one more time, I advise caution though, to use it with a very light hand and not spraying it near the face, in fact, I will start with me feet next.
Insolence is a heady scent, rich with berries and woods that sensually remind the wearer that their perfume is expensive and it really does smell rich. I am not a fragrance snob but some are really made better than others and this one was really well designed, this is a floral scent perfect for the evening. The reason this got 4 stars and not 5 is the strong smell of raspberry, it was all I could smell for the first hour I wore it. It balanced itself out later but I felt like I smelled like perfumed jam much longer than necessary.
Notes: Spiral Accord, Iris, Orange Blossom, Rose, Violet, Sandalwood, White Musk, Tonka Bean, Raspberry.

Sweet But No Depth ... June 30, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Yep, I bought this fragrance as soon as I caught the first note (little did I know that was the only note) ... in fact, I bought the uber-large vessel because I found it so enchanting. And while it is a bit more extravagantly priced than many comparable scents, I thought it was worth the investment. Not quite.
Though the notes are reported as Iris, Orange Blossom, Rose, Violet, Sandalwood, White Musk, Tonka Bean, Raspberry, there is a distinct lack of Sandalwood and White Musk ... there is virtually no bottom note at all. So, in essence, the fragrance is quite fleeting and fairly superficial.
It is basically a play on violet and berries ... very juvenile (in the strictest sense of the word) and surprisingly simplistic. So, if you are seeking a basic scent for casual affairs, this is a fine choice. Nonetheless, the price is a bit exaggerated for the components ... Pink Sugar may be a nice alternative ... especially if you are purchasing this for a young person.
The best aspect of this scent ... exquisite presentation ... bravo to the innovative creator of this bottle. It's almost worth buying it for your collection JUST FOR THE BOTTLE ... but, again, not quite;)
Delicious! May 1, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This scent is remarkably beautiful without being overwhelming. It is complex enough to remain interesting, but is still light and refreshing. It smells like violet and berries, with a soapy, powdery finish. I get so many compliments on this scent, though most people don't assume its perfume at first (they tend to say it smells like I just stepped out of the shower). A sophisticated, fresh alternative to many scents that smell just like every other one on the market today, "Insolence" is unique and beautiful.
Pure quality January 14, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This scent is pure quality. You can feel the different components and how they match perfectly together in a fresh romantic feel. I get commented a lot when I use this. This is a stayer!
